FFFX 2024 Letter

Dear FFFX Creator,

Some of this is copied from previous letters, and I am also happy with what I asked for in my previous letters. I am very easy to please. Think of the prompts as vague suggestions to get your ideas flowing. As a rule, as long as the relationships I request are the focus, I’m going to be thrilled with whatever you come up with. I have received some wonderful gifts for many of these requests in the past. If I am requesting them again, it only means I am greedy and want more! (Seriously, go see my Gifts page. I have been spoiled rotten!) Don't read into some requests being longer than others. For some things, my entire request can be boiled down to, "Pretty! Want!"


General likes:
- plot, Plot What Plot/Porn Without Plot, casefic, mission fic,

- humor, endings with hope intact
- functional relationships, dysfunctional relationships, secret relationships that aren’t really a secret, established relationships, get-togethers, healthy communicative polyamory where everyone's on the same page
- canon divergence AUs such as what if they got there five minutes sooner or Anakin never fell. dimension-hopping from/to canon divergent universes where they did get there five minutes sooner
- fluff, light angst, whump with happy endings
- friends with benefits, FWB with feelings, FWB denying they are FWB with feelings
- kidfic, accidental baby/toddler acquisition, awkward dorky teenagers, parenting including quirky or atypical co-parenting arrangements, pregnancy including mpreg and fpreg and weird "because aliens" preg

Additional Like note: I don't care if you're familiar with the entire universe of things I've requested (I'm not) or if you're only familiar with the five minutes you watched on Youtube that one time. I like when people make things up about the storyverse then run with them.

You can add Grogu to any prompt I've requested as long as his scenes remain rated PG or below. You can add Qi'ra to any prompt I've requested as a morally gray semi-friendly antagonist (think Hondo).

Art likes: bright colors with clear lines, black and white, heavily stylized such as Art Deco or playing cards, complex backgrounds, blank backgrounds, unusual page structure, shadows and shading, photorealistic, chibis, women with muscle definition, props, background animals, background plants, stained glass, marginalia in old books, would love a wedding photo-style picture for any of my requests either "staged" or "candid," character portraits, Rule 63 takes on requested characters (this is an art-only like, please no unrequested Rule 63 for fic)

Do not want:
- noncon (dubcon ok, see Likes)
- scat, watersports
- omegaverse
- sexual activity for anyone under 15 (kissing is fine)
- unrequested ships except as mentioned
- focus on unrequested characters
- non-canon AUs such as coffeeshops or Modern/non-powered AUs
- permanent character death of any requested characters
- unrequested sexuality or gender headcanons
- unrequested Force sensitivity headcanons
- non-canon nicknames
- any parent character thinking or saying they wish they'd never had their child / they hate their child / they no longer love their child
- frame stories unless both parts involve groups of my requested characters
- stories where half the requested relationship (platonic or romantic) only shows up at the very end
- erasure of canon disabilities (AUs where Luke never fought Vader on Bespin and never lost his hand are fine, stories where Kanan still has his sight after Malachor for no reason are not)

Additional note about character bashing: I'm perfectly fine with canon opinions about other characters and relatable extrapolations from same. General Hux thinks Kylo Ren is an asshole in canon and he can call Kylo Ren an asshole here. Hera hates the Empire and would personally set the Emperor on fire herself given a chance. That attitude is fine to keep in a story.

Do not like:
Things I'm not fond of but don't mind appearing in a story/artwork in small amounts to move the characters or plot along. This is a guide for what I'd prefer someone not to focus on or otherwise base a gift around.
- excessive use of italics or bold (reading them gives me headaches, please limit use to where strictly necessary such as starship names)
- non-canon swearing
- worldbuilding
- Mando'a
- excessive military details
- first person POV
- focus on unrequested characters
- epistolary format
- IF
- focus on grief/mourning
- sexually submissive women (including femslash - top4top is my jam)
- implication that the Rebellion went directly from Yavin 4 to Hoth when it took them years to get there in canon (I love Hoth huddling-for-warmth fic. Hoth fic is great.)
- extensive references to Legends/video games/unrequested EU novels (small references and Easter Eggs are great, anything that hinges on my knowing unrequested Character X from Legends Novel Y will make a better gift for someone else)

Background relationships: Anything listed in other prompts is fine in the background of another ship. Platonic relationships are fine. Mentions of canon ships or character/OC ships are fine. The thing I love best in ships is when the characters are best friends who fuck. I also love both banter and seeing characters with major differences have equally valid points to their side of the argument, and despite it all are ride or die for each other. I also love the fluffy happy moments between disasters. I love the first moment when it strikes them that oh no they have feelings. I love the second moment when it strikes them that oh no this is going to be a disaster, too.


LOTR: Rings of Power

Durin/Disa & Elrond
Durin/Disa/Elrond

Sometimes a family is a pair of married dwarfs and their elf brother/husband. I loved everything about this plotline in RoP. I love Durin's tendency to remember things differently and more to his favor. I love Disa's songs, and her forging, and her ambition, and her big heart. I love Elrond being properly abashed by them and clearly adoring the hell out of them both. I'd love the Rashamon versions of how they all met, or the story of Durin and Disa's courtship (complete with who actually remembered what properly). Or tell me the story of an Elrond who didn't stay away for twenty years and was there for every moment.


SW: Rebels

Kanan Jarrus/Hera Syndulla

DNW breakup fic for Kanan/Hera. I am fine with fics set after he died and told in flashback, or with him as a Force ghost, or fix-its where he didn't die and/or they find a way to being him back. The rest of the cast is welcome to play significant roles in the story. I'm not super into angst for this pairing. A little is fine but I'd rather aim for something on the "sweet" end of "bittersweet" when possible.

- Their first months working together.
- Missing scenes from the time of the show.
- That time they got stuck in a Groundhog Day time loop for three days that lasted six months, and how they got out and how much time they spent having sex.
- That one job that started out simple and wound up them wheeling and dealing with half the criminals in the underworld, including Qi'ra, for the sake of getting a Jedi artifact or something.
- That time they banged in Ezra's old comm tower while everyone else was busy during "Flight of the Defender."
- Those times they banged in the various rooms of the ship.
- Their first time post-Malachor.
- Kanan figuring out this Force Ghost business after the fact the way Qui-Gon did, and hanging out to watch and guide.
- Were Zeb and Sabine their first attempt at building a crew, or were there others around before, and what happened?
- He's been smitten with her since the beginning, and she didn't say she loved him until the end, so how did they work around feelings, and not admitting to those feelings despite the fact that everyone around them knew?
- What was he about to tell her when Rukh attacked?
- Comedy capers where they're just hanging out having fun!
- Fix-its in which she's running the Rebellion and he's changing diapers and trying to keep Chopper from tossing the baby out through the airlock.
- Non-fix-its where his ghost is hanging out with them, making bad jokes and attempting to parent from beyond the grave.
- A Kanan (or Caleb) from another timeline shows up post-ROTJ, and the resulting angst of dealing with someone who looks like your dead ex and trying to explain it to your kid.


SW: The Bad Batch

Crosshair/Mayday

Apparently I now ship these two like it's my job. Any AU where Mayday isn't dead by the end of his first episode would be great. Any AU where it turns out they knew each other back on Kamino would also be great. Maybe a tell-all tabloid article from the underground holo news outlet where Crosshair goes to share his story after everything, and it keeps going back to this great guy he met. Fanart about their contrasts, given how different Crosshair is from Regs, and how Mayday has grown into his own person despite being a Reg (from Crosshair's POV this is weird).

Follow up or coda to "The Return" where Crosshair goes into a little more depth about what happened. Mayday can stay dead but I wish for tasty, tasty angst about it.



Crossover Fandom

Poe Dameron/Jacen Syndulla

I am convinced these two knew each other when they were younger. Competing aces in the New Republic Academy who occasionally settled their constant oneupsmanship in bed? Long-term boyfriends driven apart by destiny? Occasional fuckbuddies who are on-board with the other seeing other people as long as he's up for some fun when they're both in town? The sky's the limit. Or, canon AU where they saw where things were headed and fucked off to run their own cargo business together while the events of the rest of the galaxy play on without them. I am also interested in them as snippy exes, and maybe Jacen comes back into Poe's life right as he's finally getting things worked out with Finn. (I'm okay with a Poe/Finn endgame if you want to go there as long as there's plenty of Poe/Jacen backstory.) Preference for Jacen to be Force sensitive but not a Jedi, though I could be amenable to him deciding if all the other Jedi he knows are going to have sex, he's not sticking to that rule either. (I haven't read the Poe backstory novel and I don't care to. Incorporate or ignore what you want.)


SW: Resistance

Tam Ryvora/Synara San

I'm fascinated by Tam's gradual fall into working for the First Order, and my deepest regret about the show ending was not getting to see her pick herself up after the dust settled, having to deal with the things she did and choosing to go on every day.

Tam and Synara had gorgeous chemistry together early on, and I remain sad that the show dropped the ball later. They bonded early, and Tam even consented to spend leisure time with Kaz to get to hang out with Synara. Synara fought against her own shipmates to save Tam! They are due a reckoning after the events of the show, forced missions together, or even a quest of their own post-TROS that brings them together. Maybe after the war, Tam strikes out on her own as a pilot for hire, or finds work as a mechanic on the racing circuit, and meets up with Synara again a few years down the road. What I would love more than anything for these two is for them to work past the lying, the betrayals, and the hurt, and move on together. Maybe they don't speak for a year and find each other again after the war, or maybe they decide the Colossus is too small to keep their distance. Or an AU where Tam went into racing and she meets Synara on some romantic (or horrible) planet and they have space lesbian adventures together.
